This is Dylan getting ready for the big farm field trip with school. Blanca called in sick today, so momma is going to take them. Papa is on his way to the gym, then it's my turn to watch them as momma has her fingers and toes done in old town.

New shoes
I picked up some new sandels today for the wedding in key west. Very swanky and much needed. I bought my last pair over 3 years ago in Walnut Creek. Will the excitement never cease?

I uploaded some photo's from today's trip to the Potomac Hunt Races in Potomac Maryland. Our friends Liz (the horse vet) and her husband Big John throw a little rail party every year. It was fun but tough chasing the boys around all afternoon but they seemed to get into the races more this year. One horse did fall jumping a fence and had to be put down. Very sad. No pictures of that horse. http://www.flickr.com/photos/homerclees/sets/72057594141422213/
Danielle's Birthday Party

These are a few shots from the birthday party at My Gym yesterday. The boys had lots of fun in the ball pit and during the bubble storm too. Lots of running around, jumping, climbing and falling down. Sam is top left and Dylan right. That's Danielle in the bottom left quadrant. She just turned 3.

Chophouse and Party at Kate's House

Went to the chop last night and saw the crew and then went to a party at Kate's house. Good times all around and it was good to see everyone again. Kumie got me home late but we still had time to watch Capote. Interesting but not great. Anyway, the boys went to a birthday party for a classmate at a My Gym. It was insane but they seemed to enjoy it. I took a bunch of pictures and will load them soon. Nicole also has some before and after shots of her new haircut. I suppose those will go up on her blog.

Mid Week Update
The blurry picture on Tuesday was the Greater Wilton Woods Citizens Association meeting at Browne Academy. Lots of talk about the improvements at Browne and how they want to be a good neighbor (by cutting tuition 90 percent so Sam and Dylan can go there) and the new development on Sharon Chapel Road. They are going to build 11 new homes ranging from the high 900’s to 1.2 million. Pretty standard pricing around here these days. It really won’t affect us much except we may see a few more cars up and down the street in 2009 when it’s all complete.
The meeting also featured the “man” talking about anti gang activities in the area. I guess MS13 is roaming Huntington Avenue and the Fairfax County police are on the case. Did you know that only two officers in Fairfax County (population 1.2 million) have been killed on the job in the department’s history? And both were last week by some deranged teenager with 17 assorted weapons. Fairfax County also only averages 13 homicides a year which is the lowest rate of any area of the country with that type of population. Anyway, interesting stuff at these meetings.
Played golf with Modean yesterday and had a pretty good round. Once again the weather was perfect and the golf was free. Modean has mounds of free passes to a dozen courses in the area. It’s good to be in the sports radio business.
I’m meeting Nicole at a funeral for a friend from AARP today. John Luehrs had a heart attack on Sunday and died at 60 years old. He was a very sweet man and while he did love the Packers, we were able to find common ground. It will be a rough afternoon.

Hey look, Nicole's blogging. http://nikabolid.blogspot.com/ Add her to your readers, and those of you that don't know what a reader is, you need to start using one. www.bloglines.com is my favorite. Personalized google homepages do the same thing. Anyway, fun party last night and Rick the bartender was awsome. It's actually fairly clean downstairs since he was picking up and cleaning the whole night. Never got any of the Labanese Taverna food, too busy talking I guess but I hear it was tasty. Took a bunch of pictures again but I'm not sure if I got any good ones.

Wendy's Wedding
So I've posted the photos from our neighbor Wendy's wedding. They turned out ok but nothing to write home about. I have a shot of a one of the helicopters from Wendy's new husbands squadron. They did a fly over exactly at 5 when the wedding was suppose to start. It actually started at 5:45 but the boys loved the flyby. Chris is a pilot in the Marine One squadron. They fly the president around. Take a look for yourself. http://www.flickr.com/photos/homerclees/sets/72057594131534580/
I worked out this morning, had lunch with Jud and ran a bunch of errands today. I'm feeling a little blah tonight. I'm getting a haircut and having drinks with Jimmy T tomorrow. Should be fun.

Fort Foote
Here is the long promised photos from our trip to Fort Foote last Saturday. As you will see, it was another gorgeous day for a trip to a park. We did see a really big black snake climbing up a tree that made me look around the ground a lot. I didn't know they could climb trees so now I have to look up for the slimy little buggers as well. Anyway, I'm working on the wedding pictures now and may have them up today or tomorrow. Enjoy...

Ok, I'll have the Ft. Foote park and Wendy's wedding photos up tomorrow. It's been a busy and confusing couple days and I haven't found the time to create the flickr sets. I got some pretty good shots but not as many as I would have hoped. I bought some black and white film for Nicole's old 35 mm camera and plan on experimenting with, yes, real film. I'm tired and need to go to bed. :-(

We went to Fort Foote Maryland today to hike and throw rocks into the Potomac. I took a hundred pictures, some with my new lense, an 10-20 mm wide angle Signa. Anyway, I'll upload a whole group to flickr tomorrow night. We also went to Wendy's wedding this evening. Wendy lives across the street and she got married on her newly sodded front lawn. I've got 200 pictures of that event. That will be a separate flickr upload. I'm looking forward to taking a lot of pictures this summer and actually plan on figuring out how to use this expensive camera I have. More soon....
