Lake Minnetonka

Got back out on the lake this visit with my buddy Kevin from High School. We spent so many care free summer days out on that lake doing a lot of nothing but cruising around. Rob, Skoog and Dan joined for the 3 hour cruise before the pre-reunion and official reunion parties. It's been a whirlwind 25th and I enjoyed seeing all the old crew but found myself bewildered at points last night. I think that's fodder for another post once I sort that all out.

MSP

Made it into Minneapolis yesterday on time and ready for a nap. The boys headed down to the basement to play with the trains the minute they got in the door of Grandma and Grandpa's house. We really didn't do much but a little work and some nap time. Played golf today while the boys and the girls went to the Minnesota Mill Museum and the Mall of America which were both a hit. 25th high school reunion tomorrow. That'll be fun.

Home

I made it home yesterday with little difficulty but I was tired most of today. Had to get up a 4am to get to LAX in time for a 8am flight but made it home to spend some time with the boys before passing out. It was a good weekend of meetings and social events but I'm glad to be home preparing for our trip to Minnesota. Yah, ya no.

A New Town

So our first trip to National Harbor was fun last night. That place is like a whole new town springing up from nowhere just about 3 miles away from us. Literally, it will be 30 square blocks of shops, restaurants, hotels, condos and parks on the banks of the Potomac when it's complete. It's already pretty impressive but only a quarter complete at this point. Now we have the 259 year old Town of Alexandria on one side of the river and the 6 month old town of National Harbor on the other. Should keep us entertained for some time to come. I took a lot of photos and got some good ones will all the light from a setting sun. Check them out on Flickr.

The baseball themed national pastime restaurant was closed for a private party.

Summer Color

It's been a tiring week for some reason but the boys have been keeping me entertained on a nightly basis. They have really been enjoying Baseball Camp and have been hitting the pool with their friend Jackson or karate class most afternoons. They are just a bunch of giggles most nights at dinner and seem to be able to entertain each other regardless if Nicole and I were there. I guess as they become more verbal and exposed to more things they begin to open up like this flower. I had to tie the picture into the comments in some way.

Long Ball

It's baseball camp this week and Blanca caught this home run swing by Dylan this morning. They appear to be picking up the idea of the game and as always enjoy running around with a bunch of other kids. We'll sign up for a baseball league next spring.

It stayed dry enough to see the fireworks at Lee District Park just down the road a mile. Good show and the boys are fast a sleep in bed. My turn next.

Longest Chain of Shoes

So the shoes being laid out last night at National Geographic was a Guinness Book World Record for the longest chain of shoes. Yes, more than 10,500 shoes all tied together. I guess I witnessed history in the making. Here's a story and some better pictures of the earth shattering event.
