Fall Moments
Was on a zoom call and I noticed some spectacular sunlight on some changing trees. It's 80 degrees today but winter is coming.

Seventeen
17 marathons in the book and I'm sure more to come. Thanks to Robbie for cheering for Nicole at miles 7, 14 and 26.2. The drake throwers and Dylan for cheering at 11. The support kept her going.
Shirtless Oval
Sam, Antz, Adam, Austin and Dylan accompanied Nicole around the Drake track which was at mile 11 on the marathon. The boys had to take their shirts off for crowd pleasure at the end.

Solo
Nicole and I walked this beach a couple times last year but I did it alone this morning. It's good to see the Pacific Ocean on a regular basis.
Chasing the sun
We left DC a little before sunset and didn't totally lose the horizon until about 30 minutes from San Diego. My back of the napkin calculation is that the earth moves a little faster than a plane.

Bar Crawl
It was a splendid fall night in old town with the Lorenger's. Drinks and tapas on the river at Barca and some Rob Roy's and cigars at the Basin Street Lounge on King. Temps in the 60s and a nice north breeze is what I like.

NuLu
Otherwise known as New Louisville. I think it's a nice little town with revitalized neighborhoods and a expanding restaurant scene. We like the minor league ball park and they have a new soccer stadium for a men's and women's pro teams. U of L was nice too with division 1 sports and a nice campus. I'd go back.

Minor League Ball
My kind of baseball night. 70 degrees, view of a couple bridges over the Ohio and a Saints win. Louisville is a nice town.
No Bad Seats
The Louisville Bats stadium is state of the art and quite nice for AAA baseball standards. Got some 200 level seats right behind home plate and enjoyed the Bats losing to my home town favorite Saint Paul Saints.

Dental Bone
The dentist prescribed a bone a day to keep Milo's teeth in good shape. He enjoys those things, this time on my bed staring at me.

Marty Sanchez
Beautiful day for golf in Santa Fe. The Marty Sanchez golf course was quite nice, with great views of the mountains. We all played respectably in general.

Brooklyn Kings
The DC Calvary beat the much enhance Brooklyn team in Brooklyn today. It was an early morning drive up to New York and a hard fought win in a pretty spot in an old Brooklyn shipyard. This picture shows Manhattan on the right and Jersey City on the left. Dylan reports that he played 25 minutes and had a massive tackle. This is the end of the season for him, the DC Calvary finish 6-0 in the Rugby League United. Well done lads.

Sunrise
Got up early yesterday to beat the traffic home. It was a nice little 3 day getaway with the kids. Seeing Adam and getting some time in the surf were much needed.

Crows Show
It was a hot one in Virginia Beach seeing Adam. Great show and good times. Need to stay in the ocean to stay cool.

Good Day of Rugby
Sam, Nicole and I were able to get to the DC Calvary's last home game of the year and Dylan put on a show with a try and two 2 point conversions (kicks). His next game is in Brooklyn and we will need to watch that one online.

We picked up the boat and did a joy ride with Dylan learning the basics of boating. Lots of tubing after that and now a short break for lunch.

Hot Soccer
It was a steamy 5pm soccer game on Sunday and the boys team lost again. This is a team of a bunch of high school friends playing in a Fairfax county adult soccer league. They call themselves the Sandbox Boys because they have known each other since the days they played in the sandbox together. They are having fun but can't get that elusive win.
It was 90 plus degrees with a 70 plus degree dew point for this game. The Sandbox Boys had two subs, 13 total players. The other team had almost two teams, nearly 20 players. The Sandbox boys couldn't keep up with all those rested subs coming in and out of the game. Linda and Gil stayed hydrated and enjoyed the game.

Win in Boston
The DC Calvery traveled to Harvard and beat the Boston Thirteen in a wet and windy game. Dylan got some good time on the pitch and had a great time with his new team. He's on his way home now, ETA 4am.

Second team all American
Sam's teammate Anthony placed 12th in the NCAA National championship yesterday. Nice to be able to watch on ESPN and looking forward to seeing Sam there next year.
Rest Break
One of our deer catching his breath after breathing in Canadian forest fire smoke all day. It's not nice out there.

Edison Sunrise
Nicole didn't have any female running partners this morning so I joined her at the Edison track for a walk/run before the dawn. Not a good idea for young ladies to run in the dark by themselves and she needed to get the workout in before her 7am PT session. She's up to running 5k while I walked 2 and a half. It was nice to see the sunrise.

Threesome
First golf outing with both boys. This was Dylan's first ever round and while he was a little rough, he had some really spectacular shots too. Fun 18 with these two.

MVC Championship
Sam's first Missouri valley conference championship didn't go the way he wanted but he has three more years to get the gold. Nicole and I had fun watching him in at Illinois State in Normal. We rendered a car in Chicago and drove down Saturday morning, then made the 300 mile drive to Des Moines Sunday afternoon to help Sam move out of his dorm. We are all flying home on Wednesday.
